I don't know if it's all the same, but for a '98 I had it was like this:
The total (dry fill)was 6.6 quarts.
Drain & fill was 2.6 quarts.
It may not be the same all years, but it'll give you an idea of how much stays behind when you driain it.

I think the last full rebuild I did used 7.5 quarts
Good idea to go ahead and put a quart into the TC before install, so it doesn't start up dry.
Then after the trans is bolted up and axles are in you can put in 4 quarts, thats enough to start it up, shift thru reverse and drive, holding the brake of course, then shut it off and recheck the fluid level.
