Hey Robinson. Consider doing the 50:50 thing; it's simpler and works and is factory recommended.

Corrosion inhibitor is 100% in the antifreeze; it's an additive and gets used up. If you're running
only 25% antifreeze (w/ distilled water?) then you're accepting corrosion risk over time
unless you're changing it out more frequently than I'd want to.

I'm into simple and works ... Best to you, though, you're a smart guy.

Thats what the water wetter is for. It compensates for the corrosion inhibitor in the antifreeze. I was a bit iffy about it but I saw a big difference in my coolant temps when I did that mix. Thing is, with 50:50 my car would go up to 205˚ and always stay there in any drivin- stop and go, idle, highway. So the radiator wouldn't really be doing much. But once I put that mix in, I would see it drop when i'd expect coolant temps to drop from radiator air flow.

My system is to use that concentration in winter then concentrate it more to 40:60 in winter. I think it may have just been the reservoir that froze. The low coolant level could have bin insufficient bleeding from my timing belt.

How are you measuring engine temp? Why are you trying to cool it by adding more water to the mix in the winter?

Through an OBD scanner. And I'm trying to cool it to get a little more advance timing since the car has no knock sensor but I'm running on non ethanol premium. Car bogs down when its running past 200˚. I had a whole thread on the cooling part somewhere.
