how to replace ignition switch on 97 accord

is there a write up? the person i got the car from said that was the problem

I think ignition switch is under the electrical section.

I've done this on 94 EX. It's an easy job.

1) Remove upper and lower covers. I think 4, Torx-head screws (not sure of size). Covers are held together w/ some snaps, so you have to force apart after pulling screws.

2) Disconnect electrical connector to switch.

3) Remove 2 security bolts (round heads) holding switch in place. Use a sharp awl or cold-chisel to hit the bolt edge and turn the bolt head CCW. One blow each was all mine req'd. Once loose, you can turn w/ fingers.

4) Pull switch.

Reverse for installation.
