How to replace starter???
1998 accord v6 auto, wont start, clicking noise. I had it jumped and it started. alternator replaced recently and battery has been tested. cleaned terminals and still wont start. the guy at auto zone said its probably a starter selenoid. do I have to replace both the starter and selenoid? does anyone have instructions or pics that would help me replace starter?

RE: How to replace starter???
ask DH
i believe by looking at the pictures that the starter assembly is on the front of the trans and is fairly easy to get to.
I would take the starter off and get it tested before you plunk down the $400 for a new one....

to replace the starter, first off make sure you got the code for the radio ( anti-theft) , disconnect the neg battery cable, remove the nut ( 12 mm ) for the starter cable goint from battery into the starter , disconnect the wire going to solenoid.. ( black/white wire ) ,, there might be the clamp for the AT cooler hose in the way , remove it,, remove the 2 14mm bolts that hold the starter on, remove the starter,,,,,,,,,
Reinstall in reverse order,,,,,,As alway make sure all bolts and nuts are tight and wires properly clamped on .........
