i am having a weird problem...
seems like everyday when i go to work i get out on the main road its 70 mph on it and i have to drive for a while so of course I turn on my cruse control. but its seems that about three or four mins after i turn on it on and driving nicely down the road i might add. The car just turns it self off at high speeds. its no big del i just pop down the clutch and restart it and its good to go again. then i can use curse control all the way to work and after a 10-12 hour shift i can use it all the way home with no problem. Then it will do the same thing again the next day. any ideas? thanks

Can you make it happen by wiggling the key? Flaky ignition switch is a problem that spans a bunch of different year Hondas.
I just fixed a friend's '99 Civic for that. Switch was OK just loose mounting screws allowed it to move around a bit.

Same problem
Hi, just signed up because I am having the same problem as the original poster. I have a 99 Accord DX 4cyl - random stalls, sometimes re-starts itself on the highway, sometimes just stalls at a stop and has to be re-started several times.
Did a bunch of research and seems the consensus is that it is likely a faulty ignition switch (I missed the '02 recall window on it)
Question - if I replace the ignition switch and my key has the chip in it, will it still work properly or will I have to get it re-programmed.
Thanks for any help!

Sorry, one more question - this is the switch I am looking at buying - any opinion on whether to go with this or go for the OEM switch - Ignition Switch by Beck/Arnley (part#201-1805) / Switches
