I have no idea what happened?! Help me please!!
I have a 95 Honda Accord EX Coupe that has been babied since the day it was brought home from the factory by my mom in early 1995. She passed it down to me when I got my license and I have also taken good care of it but just this morning, ALL of the oil leaked out of it. I left my house this morning, and as I got down the street, realized I forgot something, so I came back to my house only to find a HUGE puddle on my driveway from where my car had been parked before I left and a line all the way down my driveway and the road where I had just been driving. So I popped the hood and looked down in there and all I could see was oil just dripping out all over the place. I opened up the engine cap, and all of the oil was gone (I had just put new oil in it last week). I don't know what to do?!?! Has anyone ever had this happen to them before or can anyone give me an idea as to what might have happened? The car was driving perfectly fine last night and this morning, and it still starts and sounds like it's running fine, so I don't know?!?! Something to do with the transmission?! Did a hose come lose? Did a cap pop off? I have no idea but I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me some sort of information ) Thank You!

when you say "i had new oil put in it", do you mean that you took it somewhere to get the oil changed? i would find someone to crawl under and make sure that your oil plug is in...alot of lousy mechanics will strip the plug, or not tighten it enough, and it can fall out..if this is the case..it WILL RUIN YOUR CAR. dont run it until you know what is wrong, and if you got it changed at a shop, call IMMEADIATELY and flip out! make them tow it back to the shop, and foot the bill..if this was a corporate shop, like monro or midas...call their corporate office!

i dissagree that you have to make a big fuss calling a corporate without making sure that was the problem.
there is however big chance that the oil leaking due to wrong handling - "oil change" procedure.
its very unfortunate but stuff happen - lets not forget the fact that the car is 10 years old.
I would suggest that you tow the car to the shop where the oil change was changed and calmly explain to the mechanic what the problem is.
you would gain more respect toward yourself as a customer.
..also you can try to find a leak yourself at first - put a basket under the car and add oil and start the car - see from underneath what part it is leaking from if it does - you can run the car even without oil short period of time while its still not hot-

umm..i worked at a corporate shop..if youre bashful and soft on them...you will get nothing out of them. call them and sound mad...dont fix anything yourself...YOU didnt cause the problem, you shouldnt have to fix it...you paid for an oil change and the oil you now paid for has leaked out, staining your driveway and now you have to pay for new oil...demand a free oil change, if nothing else...if they stripped the oil plug, or even worse, the oil pan it will require a new one which is expensive. and you dont know if driving it even a short distance with low oil may have damaged something..i would call the corp office just so they know, in case other engine related problems spring up.

Hi you guys - sorry it took me a couple of days to get back to you but I figured out what the problem was. The oil plug (?) fell out and caused the oil to spill everywhere. If I would've driven it any more, I probably would've burned up the engine, so I was lucky that I had forgotten something and had to come back to my house, otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed anything was wrong until it was too late. My dad and his best friend both used to be mechanics, so they spent the weekend figuring it out. They tore the car apart and they ended up replacing the interior and exterior oil pump belts, and I got a new alternator belt and a new timing belt. But if it isn't one thing, it's always another...and now I had to buy a new battery. Stupid car. LoL...anyways guys, thank you so much for all your help because I wouldn't have even known where to start if you wouldn't have given me ideas. I really appreciate it all. Keep in touch!
