I lost my ONLY key!
So i lost my only key to my 03 accord.
Quoted by the dealer for about $80 for a new VALET key cut an programed.
But there saying im going to have to get the car towd in so they can program the key to the car... Im a broke college kid an 80$ is steep let alone a $200 towing bill.
I asked how much it would be to just get the Valet key cut an hey told me abou $10 so now im hear praying some one can tell me that i can program a VAlET key my self

The valet key will allow you to unlock the doors. It will not start the car until you program the ECU of the car to accept the new key. There's an RFID tag inside the key.
Call locksmiths. Some of them have the proper scanner that they can plug into your car & do that programming. There's no physical reason the car has to be towed, if you can convince (pay) someone to bring the proper tool to the car.
Pretty much every new-ish car is like that. Some of them can't be accessed at all without one good key. For those cars you're looking at replacing the ECU or security module.
I'll use this opportunity to rant about this to everybody else. If you ever get down to only owning ONE key, you need to get another one made BEFORE you lose the one.

You can get a temporary ignition key blank cut from the dealer and then get the 5-digit Immobilizer brake code. The Immobilizer brake code is a numeric code that is enter by using sequences of moves with the ignition switch and parking brake. You can the start the car and bring it to the dealer to have keys made and programmed to the ECM/PCM.
Most locksmiths do not have devices to program keys for Type IV Immobilizer that is part of your 2003 Accord's ECM/PCM.
