Default I need help BAD pleeease!

I have a 95 accord ex car I just recently bought and it's currently stuck in limp mode. It's a 95 body with a 97 f22b2 non-vtec motor. I finally got my instrument cluster so I could read the cel codes and I'm pulling code 4, 6, 9, and 17 but.... I need to know if it's even possible to use obd1 poa ecu and wiring on a 97 obd2 motor and if the cel codes are even correct with my current setup? I've read so many conflicting stories all over the net that I'm terribly confused at this point. The car is hard to start, kinda misses and sputters when the key is turned, but once it starts up, it idles flawlessly, drives 130 miles a day, has a "little bit" of power from 1k rpm to 2.5k rpm has horrible gas mileage (under 20mpg) and a rev limiter at 3k rpm. What would be necessary to get a 97 f22b2 non vtec motor to run in a 95 ex that's supposed to have the vtec motor in it? Any suggestions would be VERY well appreciated. I've been tinkering with this junk for 2 weeks now.

The 94/95 motors are identical and the 96/97 are identical. The differences between the 94/95 and the 96/97 motors is that a sensor in the distributor of the 95 was moved to under the timing belt cover. Also the ECUs are different.

There is also a difference between the LX/DX ECU and the EX ecu due to the EX having vtec.

So I have some questions to ask about the swap that was done. Was the 95 wiring harness used? Was the 95 distributor used?

No. It has the 97 distributor on it and as far as I can tell, it's got the 97 harness... but i'm not totally certain. There doesn't seem to be any extra wires anywhere except kind of by the fuse box there's one little blue wire with a cap looking thing on it.

Ok, so i've been messing around with the car all day and got it rev past 3k rpm... but it cuts out at 4k now which i suppose is a little better. Turned out the camshaft gear was a tooth off. I also put back in my poa 95 vtec computer and it seems to have more power now. Now I am getting code 4, 6, and 21. I hooked back up my ect sensor and it still throws the code 6. I know 21 is because my computer is trying to find a vtec motor but there isn't one. Now if I were to change out my distributor in this 97 non vtec motor, and put in a 95 non vtec distributor, could that be a possibility why it keeps giving me the code 4 ckp sensor? If I am correct, the ckp sensor in a 95 is supposed to be in the distributor while the 97 has it in the lower timing section. Does that sound like it would work? please information is needed and greatly appreciated

Yes, the 97 distributor doesn't have all the sensor that the 95 ECU is looking for. Using a 95 distributor should fix that. But then I think you'll need the 95 engine wiring harness.

Your ECU will still be looking for a VTEC solenoid & VTEC oil pressure switch. And it'll have spark & fuel maps for a VTEC engine.
