ignition switch help
hello, my 1st post here (wish it was for other reasons though). basically, i need some help trying to put my ignition switch back into place. my g/f's car got broke into overnight, and they were trying to steal it. i tried to start it but nothing happened, that's when i noticed the ignition switch hanging out. at this point i can't pop it back into place. i'm thinking i might need to remove the key lock and cylinder (shaft that mates to ignition switch), but i can't figure that out either. i'm just trying to get it running for now. she had to take my car to work this morning. any/all help is truly appreciated.
sorry, it's a 97 honda accord...

after checking it out, and having to dig into her car, it finally kinda came together. what sucks, is that i checked the main fuses, and put her stuff back together but, it wouldn't start. the dash lights didn't work, thewindows wouldn't roll up or down. the headlights worked, and the adjustment for the power seats worked. i took the ignition switch out again, bought another (wondering if the switch was damaged), and tried it, and had the same problems. i had talked to a bunch of friends of mine, and after everything was said and done, i had missed the "ignition fuse" in the fuse box under the hood. - sos

RE: ignition switch help
I'd bet that fuse saved you from a whole lot of problems had it not been there. Thanks for the signature. As for the search, the DIY's on HAF are pretty extensive. They can help you repair and upgrade most parts of the car. Glad the issue was a simple and cheap fix. The car is all good now?
