interior dome light

RE: interior dome light
Haha...a quick way would be to switch it to the "off" position (the position where the light won't come on when you opena door.)
It sounds like something is amiss with the sensor in the passenger side door though.

There's a button switch in the doorjamb, I think it's near the bottom of the B-pillar. Check whether it's loose, maybe you just have to tighten the mounting bolts?
Otherwise, check the part of the door that hits the switch. Bent? Corroded? Anything that would cause it to NOT press that button all the way in?

the door striker might need to be adjusted inward a bit more, loosen the 2 philip screws at the door striker, push the striker a bit inward , tighten the screws and see if that helps ..
