The delay, I don't know. Being that it runs thru the ICU (part of/attached to the fuse box inside the car) I can only guess there is more than just the switch. The ICU is different between the two (96-94)?
I posted a thread on the general tech area and as you suggested the ICU is different from 94-96. IN addition the 1996 intermittent stalk has an extra connector. So the moral of the story is that wiper stalk won't work on my '94. That stinks, I hate just 1 mode for intermittent.

Yea, I was worried when I saw the ICU's are different.

My theory, something has to vary the ground sent to the wiper system. The stalk is the resistor, the ICU has to "time" that into a ground pulse based upon the resistance. Did I ever say I hate electrical things

Having one setting is a bit of a pain, but the fact I drive older cars most of the time (the Pilot is the only one that you can change-the wife only lets me drive it on road trips) I'm kind of use to it. Rain-X is my friend.

I loathe electrical problems also! But I took apart the broken wiper stalk and some of the connections look like they need sanded. Gonna toy around with that and see if I can fix it. If not, oh well. Still battling the slipping shift when the tranny is cold from 3rd to 4th. About to do a 2nd flush here with warmer weather. Going to continue doing flushes and refills. The tranny has 183K and before me buying the car at 179,000, nothing was ever done to this car. I hope I can bring new life into the transmission with these flushes. LIke I said, once the fluid warms up, the transmission switches smooth as butter! Really feels solid.

Can anyone help what exactly is happening in my tranmission when its revs high then shifts into 4th? I am super novice when it comes to transmissions inner workings.

Cgermoi _A poor contact on the "ground side" of the switch could cause issues. EDIT: That is where I was trying to go...ground is being lost somewhere?

I'm not the chemical engineer here, PA might be able to give a better answer....as he is one . "Doctor PA" would be the proper answer.

Also the true internal workings (pressures, oil vis, ect) are way beyond me. Bottom line, I've always used Honda fluid in my cars. I've read, seen way too many posts of the cold shift issues where non Honda fluid was being used (mainly in the 5th and up gens).

So again, my theory, there is something in the properties of the Honda fluid that gives the trans the proper pressure that normal Dex fluid does not....at least until it gets hot. Also in my personal experience with the 5th gen's....even after using Honda fluid if you notice the same cold shift issues and or the "lock up" of the converter gets out of normal...do "A" drain and fill. I bet everything goes back to normal.

You did change the engine, so again please be sure the throttle control cable is adjusted and moving properly.

"Wildboy11" - please start your own thread. I'm "pretty good" with the 3rd gens (86-89) but to keep everything clear it would be best if you have your own post.

Default Tranny fluid flushes bring new life

Ok so WOW!! I did a 3rd tranny flush and the flush then the OEM fluid fill up did wonders on my transmission. Even cold it shifts almost like butter. There is still a teeny teeny bit of 3rd to 4th gear hesitation but not nearly what it was. I believe the next fluid flush next week will make the tranny feel like she rolled off the show room floor.

Long live the 5th Gen. Accord!! I'm pumped!

Good to hear. Again somewhere in this I think I suggested checking the throttle control cable for proper adjustment (cable from TB to the trans). You had the engine out, so I just want to be sure it went back with the proper adjustment.

Oh, and it snowed almost all day yesterday and into the night....so I have that white fluffy stuff all over the ground

How much snow did you end up getting poorman? It's been quite "warm" and rainy here as of late. No snow for quite some time.

As for the tranny cable from the TB I am pretty sure I have it routed correctly. I followed all the hangars where it is supposed to go and it wraps down to the tranny and is clear of "hanging" up on anything. But, like I said, with that last tranny flush and OEM fill-up the tranny is almost at 100%. Next week I will do 1 last flush before I move. Yea, I am moving to NJ Not by choice BUT my girlfriend is an apartment manager and got a new job and they offered us a free apartment. So, it's a no brainer to take the FREE apartment. Did I mention it also includes free heat and hot water That's at least a 12 grand a year savings! Woo hoo! Hope all is well poorman. Keep in touch!

On raised surfaces, maybe 3 inches. Grass just a bit less. Roads, almost nothing......it was almost 60 the day before.

Again just a whimp complaining

There are"clamps" or "bands" on the throttle control that need to fit into the proper holders....then there are two lock nuts close to the trans for adjustment. In the online manual you can download it starts on 14-169 and goes thru 14-171....a bit much to post.

Yea, that is a deal too good to pass up. Good for both of you!

REMOVE THAT PIECE OF **** AND PUT IN A B16 WITH VTEC, or for a almost direct fit, the H22 they use in the prelude work good
