K&N or AFE 2.4L Air Filter
#11
There is a lot of road construction and dusty roads near where I work. I can't ever recall an oem filter lasting more than 15k miles. By that point it's completely black. But again where I drive it's a dirty, dusty environment. There is an gravel pit directly behind where I work and lots of dump trucks hauling dirt. To me long term a reusable would be worth it. It's 15 bucks at Napa for a paper filter. I think it would pay for itself.

Then you probably don't want to use a reusable filter; too much engine wear due to poor filtering.

Some folks in some locations may well get away with it, others will not be so fortunate.

It isn't what Bob says (Bob doesn't say much these days, however, the collective over there has lots and lots to say), it is the data captured in the (literally) thousands of used oil analysis reports contained in their public database which does all of the talking (at least to those willing to read and learn).

For the cost of a new vehicle or repairs just spend the extra couple cents and get a GOOD quality paper filter. The oiled filter thing ended with my 1960 ford f-100 which an oil BATH filter, although my ford 2n tractor still does have an oil bath filter [built 1942-1947 & still earns its keep].
