Key in Ingntion Alarm
I am a new member to this forum and could use some help. We have a 1994 Accord EX. Last week the "key in Ignition" alarm started staying on when the door is opened and the key is not in the ignition. I tried blowing air into the ingnition lock to see if it might free up something to no avail. In the old days there was a push switch on the door jam that looked like a door bell that turned on the overhead light when the door was opened. I don't see anything like that on our Honda so I figure is must be inside the door.
Anybody know how to stop the alarm? Is there a fuse I can pull to turn it off? I have already replaced the ignition switch on this car once and don't want to again.

Look for a reset button/switch under the driver side dash, it may be on the dash cover under the steering column or near the hood release.
Once you find it, press the reset button and turn ignition switch to 'ON'.

So I got my tired body on the floor, looking up and looked and looked, but did not find a reset switch. I could hear the beeping, but could not tell exactly where it was coming from. I think I need a stethoscope or something. We long story, short, it stopped doing that one it's own. That's not to say it might start up again.
We also have a ASB light that comes and goes. Sometime's it's on and sometimes it's not. Not a clue what to do about that.
I bought the car a new Kenwood CD/Receiver with iPod input and had it installed today. It does have good speakers. We had a dealer installed CD player that sat on top of the radio that we paid dearly for back in 1994.
Thanks for the help. Jack

You may need to remove the steering wheel covers (requires torx screwdriver, but I forget the size). The switch that enables the alarm may have failed closed or the mechanical linkage may be stuck.
There is a download manual available from Online Manuals post in DIY forum. This will help. Also see youtube videos about replacing Accord ignition switch assy. This also requires removing the steering wheel covers to access the switch assy.
good luck

I think that alarm is triggered by a little button down in the bottom of the lock cylinder. Try pushing the key into the lock cylinder, in & out repeatedly. If that button is stuck, this might free it up. Or maybe squirt some light oil in there & push the key in & out some more.

So this alarm is off and on. Now on. I tried some more blowing of air into the lock to no avail. Anybody sure there isn't a fuse to pull somewhere? I looked at all of the them down by the hood latch pull.

The 1994 Accords only had optional Honda accessory alarm system that utilized remote transmitters. There was no ignition only type (without remote) factory Honda alarms for the 1994 Accord. You probably didn't receive the remotes from the previous owner(s).
Your alarm is either a Honda accessory alarm or an aftermarket. There should be a central alarm unit somewhere. If it is the Honda accessory alarm, check behind the driver's side under dash cover, under the steering column area. If it is an aftermarket, it normally is located somewhere under the driver's side dash.
In either case, many times , the alarm malfunctions due to an alarm hood switch.
Edit: Also look under the driver's seat for the unit.

RedBull - I think you are missunderstanding the OP.
He is having a problem with the "KEY in LOCK while DOOR is OPEN" chime.
He is not referring to an "alarm system"
His chime, you know the ding ding ding, is going off even when there is no key in the ignition.

Lol, yeah, to me the term "alarm" is something else entirely.
