Loss in power?

Loss in power?
So I fixed the Cat converter and now the car has no Power. It runs fine, but up hill it doesn't have that same power it use to have? I did rebuild the engine, but I haven't re adjusted the valves. Do I have to do a valve adjustment with a torque wrench?
Also, I have a 500 watt amp hooked up, and ever since that, when I put my signal light on, it dims out and all my dash lights flash with it. Could this be my Alternator?

Have you checked your engine timing; camshaft/crankshaft and distributor timing? If timing belt were installed incorrectly or ignition timing off badly, it would cause loss of power.
Unless you have a fuel cell generator in the trunk, your Accord will not support a 500A amplifier. The 500A is probably not continuous, but certainly exceeds ability of your vehicle w/ any engine/accessory load. Alternator is only good for perhaps 100A, if you have the high output alternator.
good luck

So is the power 500 watts or peak current 500 amps? I suspect that 500 watts is correct.
If 500 watts, then load may be acceptable if other loads are minimized. I think you might have problems, but I've never operated one of these large amps.
good luck

So I checked my timing, my valve clearance and everything checked out... I am running a "gutted" cat. Do you guys think that the o2 sensor is messing with the ecu and causing it to have the lag?

if you have your 500amp hooked up to woofers your putting a hard load on your alternator and it will eventually fail. you need to put at least a 2 farad capacitor in... this will stop your lights dimming when the bass hits and keep your alternator from strain.
