Again I have to ask, the car starts everytime. You turn the key to start, the engine spins over then starts....then for ~2 sec you hear the "trrrrr".....and this is only after sitting for a "few hours" since the last time you started it......

Not many multimeters are equipped to measure amperage w/ headlights on. Usually 10A or less. Probably blew fuse. Look at VOM ranges for guidance.

good luck

Yes it starts every time. You can hear the sounds at the same moment as the engine start.

Impossible to be sure but some starter over-running clutch assy will fail to disengage when engine catches. This results in starter being driven by engine at high speed and usually produces a squealing noise.

Reason for this problem is the over-running clutch does not slide on the shaft when the solenoid drive retracts. Fix is to lube shaft.

good luck

There was a recent post with sound clip, I'll see if I can dig that up.

Might want to read this: http://mordor.rutgers.edu/accord/tsb...4%2009-010.pdf

Thanks to redbull for the TSB.

Not the best sound quality but see this thread.

Thats it poorman. This is the sound my care makes. I have read the service bulletin. Where I can get the 2008-2009 Accord Service Manual?

I will print it out and take it to the dealer. Will they charge me to get it fixed?

Never mind. This is covered under power train warranty (5years or 60,000miles)
My Honda is 08 and have 57,000 miles so I just made it

Let us know how it turns out....some will go by the month of the car on age.

Hope my "left field" questions work out.

If you still need/want the manual, let me know. A friend of mine sent me a link a while back....I could dig it up it needed.

Update.
Just came back from the dealer. Guess what... they did not hear any noise! I left the car with them overnight and the technician start it this morning and said he did not hear anything. Also my Honda have 59,283 miles on it. Last night they said if they hear the sound they will replace VTC Actuator under warranty.
I'm pretty sure they want me to have the car and drive it until I pass the 60 thousand power train warranty and then they will hear the sound.
Goind to another dealer right now. See what they will say.
