Default Low Idle

My 96 accord lx 2.2l started idling low a couple of weeks ago. I replaced the throttle position sensor in addition to the idle air control valve and still have the same problem. It seems as though my car is burning gas. I am waiting for the check engine light to come on so I can have a clue as to what is going on...

In the meantime...and ideas as to what is going on???

Suggest cleaning the throttle body; throttle plate both sides and bore around plate. Cleaning IACV inlet/outlet ports.

Idle speed is controlled by idle bypass air provided by IACV and a small amount bypassing the throttle plate.

good luck
