Default My 91 accord loses speed when coasting?

I'm not sure if it's normal and It just feels abnormal to me because I drive my parents buick and it coasts like a champion. But basically when I'm driving I lose speed (I'de say about 1mph per second) when coasting. Is this normal for 91 accords?

Is your car a manual or automatic? If its a manual it will slow down a lot faster than an automatic.

shipo is right, the shift programming in an automatic Accord is a lot different than the automatic in a Buick, I've had both and when you slow down in the Accord the automatic shifts down more aggressively, especially if you have the sport button on. Thats probably what your feeling.

You'll get more engine-braking in an older Accord like yours. A 1999 Accord automatic will shift more like your parents' Buick.

thanks for the replies guys. Appreciate it. It was worrying me for a bit. I just had a scare with my car because it does have a lot of miles on it. But I thought my transmission was done for good. It wouldn't shift into first on it's own. Turns out It was the idle because we had messed with it before. We reset that and it worked like a charm!
