Default My Accord stays on without key and more problems Need Help

So I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX V6. When I turn off the car all the lights in the Dash are on without the key and sometimes the car stays on without the key. The only way I can turn off the car is by pressing the brakes. Don't know what exactly it can be. Also the doors and the battery light in the dash will flash when rolling the windows up or down. Need some help.

When this happens, check th BLK/YEL wire to the dist for voltage.

Are the tune up items (cap. rotor, wires, plugs, ect) up to date?

Do you have a security/alarm system installed on the car?

This has appearance of ignition switch assy failure. Contacts may be welded together or sticking together. It could also be a failure of key/lock assy which engages the ignition switch assy (not fully coupled somehow).

Ignition switch replacement is easy job, < 1 hr for first timer w/ some experience. Shop should do for 1 hr labor at most.

good luck

Yep, that is why I asked about power still going to the dist thru the BLK/YEL wire.....a quick test should confirm.

Sorry, I meant to ask if you have a remote starter installed on your car?
