Awesome! I'm so close! All I have to do is put back on the plastic splash shield and the bracket bolts for the A/C line. I have a lot of bolts under the car that rusted off, so I just have to go through and find out which bolts existed before I took it off. I thought I was being so smart when I marked the locations with chalk, but then it rained and disappeared. You don't happen to have a diagram (or know where in the service manual to look) that references where the bolt locations are, do you?

And both bolts for the A/C bracket snapped off. I got replacement 10mm bolts, and I think I just need to take my torch to the bolts that are stuck inside and they should fall out? It was just getting too dark last night and I was getting eaten by bugs!

Here's the picture of the bolts and plastic clips for the splash shield.

For the rusted bolts that held the A/C bracket, if you have a punch or a chisel. Make an indentation with the punch/chisel and a hammer on the bolt, a little away from the center of the broken bolt. Then at an angle, using the punch and hammer and try to drive it out counter-clockwise.

If you don't have a punch or chisel, try using something that is metal and hit it with a hammer against part of the rusted broken bolt, it may just fall out if it is rusted really badly.

Got it! I'm going to get a chisel at the auto parts store this week, I tried using one of my flat head electronics screwdrivers and a hammer, but it wouldn't come out, so I'm going to try the chisel later. In the meantime, I discovered the magic of zip ties, and I zip tied the bracket and the shield, because almost all the bolts that held the shield on had snapped bolts, and it's also really hard to hold it up and bolt it on at the same time.

So I turned my car on, crossed my fingers, pushed the A/C button, and for the first time since I've had the car, the fuse didn't immediately blow! I had to charge the A/C system, and now I actually have working A/C! I'm so excited, and I'm even more excited that I did it on my own. Now I want to take more things apart and fix them! Thank you SO much for your help!

Glad you got things going.

Zip ties do work, one of my friends told me that when he checked under his car, the mechanic had used zip ties to hold up his Nissin Infiniti splash shield because the mechanic probably broke the plastic clips that where there and didn't get replacements.
