Need help with 92 accord not wanting to run
Ok here is the run down so far.
I bought the car with a bad motor.
I replaced the motor 2 days ago. The person I bought the motor from did not include the Distributor. So I am using the one off the old motor. Which has been hell setting a firing base in of itself.
According to the upper timing covers, the old motor was a F22A4, the new one is a F22A1. This may be inconsequential but then again it might make a difference.
The compression numbers on the new one are good, 140+ range.
Getting fuel.
Getting Spark.
I got it to finally start and run a little last night, but when I go out this morning it is a very hard start, and will not run more than a few seconds before cutting out.
Idle is very erratic and accelerator pedal position does not change anything.
Normal new tune up parts installed last night, cap rotor plugs ect.
There are two identical green plugs by the distributor that are not hooked up. One I know is the Coolant temp sensor (the forward most of the two) the other I honestly do not know what it goes to, but it has a broken wire and needs to be replaced anyway which I will get to.
With my experience with other cars, this just seems more than a timing issue, but since I am not familiar with these things I am looking to those that are for help.

what is the attachment supposed to be cause nothing is showing up...
nevermind after the third try it finally loaded...
ok the TPS shows .89 closed, 5.0 open. So that pot is working correctly. So that is eliminated so...
I am digging into the dizzy next. What do I need to check in it?

yeah I know where the stuff is, and mostly how to test it.

I am just not that familiar with these engines, but overall am quite knowledgeable.

ground at the T-stat housing ?
are you holding voltage on the Black/yellow wire at the dist. when you let off the key?
Maybe pull the vacum hose off the Fuel Pressure Regulator, see if there is raw gas in it.

Pulled the hose off, dry and no gas smell. The upper tube off the regulator is also dry as I stuck a qtip down it part way.
Does this engine require that the Coolant Temp Sensor be plugged in, cause it is not, it is a plug that needs replaced due to the wire braking right at the plug.

will check that...
Ok... What I see is a round connector with 3 ground wires that are bolted down beside the starter. The harness bundle that comes up I do not see any blatant ground connectors at all in it.
I circled and marked where those are located.
