It sounds like engine mounts to me ..... wheel hop on moderate launch and moderate gas + gear changes ..... mounts.

I just changed the 3 engine mounts ..... the rear lower was blown apart and the other 2 were worn to the point that I could flex them fairly easily by hand ..... I also added a torsion damper and I still have a little rumble ..... time for me to change tranny mounts too. FYI-Changing the engine mounts helpped tremendously.

They are on any engine that is mounted on any type of machinery. They secure the engine to the car. You have 3 engine mounts and 2 tranny mounts. The 2 lower engine mounts are hydraulic vacuum chambers. I just changed the 3 and now need to do the tranny mounts too ...... I also added a torsion damper to avoid killing them again (you need machining or welding skills for this ..... or a friend with these skills)

no, most likely the mounts killed the tranny. have it checked out b4 you do any work.
