new guy needs help...oh yeah hello everyone!!
i just changed my fuel filter thinking that was the problem. Well my car starts fine and doesn't stall but after about 20 mins of driving my car boggles. While i press on the gas pedal it sounds,feels like its missing. It makes this backfiring sound kind of. If i sink my clutch pedal i can rev the engine just fine or it'll idle just fine but when its in gear(any gear) is stumbles at times. If i sink the clutch and give it gas i can make the problem go away but it happens throughout the drive. Could it be a bad fual pump? I mean as i'm giving it gas the rpsm's go nowhere and the car feels like its struggling to go.thanks for any help in advance.

pull your fuel line off the fuel rail put it in a cup and turn your ignition on for about 5-7 seconds and turn it off(do not crank the car over). you should have about half a cup i think, if you have someone else who can work the ignition thats better. you just want to make sure you have good fuel pressure.
i had a similar problem and thought it was fuel. i let it go due to lack of funds for a week or two and my car ended up stoping one night on the side of the road. i was at a light idling fine and gave it gas to take off and it just stalled out and wouldn't restart.
if you have good fuel pressure then its probly an electrical(ignition) problem. when we trouble shot the problem we tested spark and wasn't getting spark every time. so the next thought was the ignitor inside the distributer. that got it running for a lil while. the next idea was the coil. and after replacing the coil and ignitor she runs like a top again.
so test your ignitor and coil and go from there. good luck

Fuel Pump Volume Test;
remove the RETURN hose from the pressure regulator, use a short hose to put into an old oil jug, start up the car and let it idle for 15 seconds. You should recover approx. 20 ounces of fuel. if less than 12 ounces replace the pump.
While you are in that area, just for grins and giggles, pull off the vacum line from the FPR and see if there is raw gas in it.
It is also common for the Dist. ROTOR to break down under load, and cause partial loss of spark
