Newly installed intake
Hi im new owner of a 99 accord 4 cyl. After first two weeks i decided to put in a cold air intake to help increase a little hp and get flow going. A few days later the "Needs Maintance" light came on. Is this because of my intake, or is there a belt need to change because im just under 90k miles? whatever it is any suggestions would be appreciated.

The maintenance light and check engine light are two different animals. If it's the maintenance light then it is due for an oil change or other prescribed maintenance. If you have an owners manual look it up, if not call a dealer for assistance in turning it off after the called for maintenance has been performed.

I have used Mobil1 synthetic oil in everything since the late 90's and am a proponent of it. You didn't state the number of miles on the engine or its previous maintenance record. It will not cause harm in any engine but sometimes it's just overkill depending on the shape of the car it's going in. Is the car using oil? Leaking oil? Then it would be a waste of money.
For a 5000 mile change interval any of the synthetic blends or even a regular oil would be just fine. The oils today are extremely good compared to those of just a few years ago. If you have an owner's manual check which viscosiy is called for. I would think 5W30 or 10W30 depending on how cold it gets in your area but you need to check.
If you indeed want to go full synthetic do some research here: http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/...=0;DaysPrune=0
Not all synthetic oils are truly 100% synthetic but are priced like those that are.
