ok i moved it by hand, and along with the movement i made to the vavle in the engine bay, its giving me heat now. Ill have to replace the cable to the valve, and find out what is disconnected on the flaps.

Thanks for the help lads

no problem, try tying the flap cable and the valve cable together, thats a temp fix that I did and as long as you dont jerk or are rough with the switch it should do both just fine until you can give it a permanent fix.

First, hook up anything you unhooked from the valve itself.

Go under that dash as was suggested. Remove the decorative plastic piece by pulling out the plastic pin which secures it.

Now you can see where the end of the temp cable attatches to the flap+linkage mechanism.

Remove the end of the cable (a little metal ring) and what will remain is a little metal "finger" pointing downward. By manually moving this thing from side to side (the opposite of the temp direction indicated on the temp control lever), you can control the temp in the car.

I operated it this way for many years until I bit the bullet and fixed it myself.

If you are agile enough, you can adjust the temp while you are driving! I have very long arms though, so you may find it a bit difficult.

Good luck.
