To set the record straight, I am not one of your stupid hybrid owners. I did tons of research on the internet before buying that car brand new in 2005. Not all Honda owners or any other brand car owner is an amateur mechanic wannabe like you, and do have to have things done sometimes in the shop. I knew what I was doing when I bought the car. It was the best car I ever owned. My wife who passed away in 2009, and I bought that car brand new. It broke me into when it was taken out in a wreck last October by a lady in a Cadillac who failed to yield right of way. A lot happy memories of trips me and my wife made in that car. Her negligence totaled both cars. That is where I got this '06 Accord which is a great car too.

I'm with you, tradosaurus, but I thought I would give a K&N one more try in this non-hybrid car. If it helps, great. If not, I am keeping my regular Wix filter and will put it back on.

There, that should end this juvenile "back and forth".

I didn't mean to insult you with my comment. Just so you know I live in one of the most hippie-infested parts of the Northwest which is already riddled with hippies, so I see over 100 Priuses alone every day. When I try to count I give up by noon. What I'm saying is the average hybrid owner bought their hybrid for gas mileage, not performance, and therefore hasn't considered a K&N. I personally know 5 people who own hybrids, and I bet you only one of them would know what K&N even is. Nothing against people who bring their car to a dealership.

You obviously know plenty about your car and I wasn't aiming the hybrid owner comment at you, but rather the general hybrid owner population. Not exactly K&N's biggest customer, you know?

I understand, Peli. Sorry again. So much room for misunderstandings when we can't see each other's face or hear voices. I do know a little but am learning even more from you guys. For that I appreciate it!

GOOD GWARSH-HOT TAMALES! I just got that K&N put on and man what a difference! I'm convinced that the hybrid I had may have not worked as well with this filter as this plain V6. It's like I'm getting the mph in a higher gear than I was.
It changes into overdrive now about 50 when it was changing on 40. When I downshift from overdrive to the next gear, I was doing 60 when before, it took the next lowest gear to do that.

If nothing changes, and hopefully it won't, I've got one good increase in pep! I noticed no hesitation either.
I need to add that all this improvement was with the a/c ON and in 105 degree weather! No telling what it might do with the a/c off and cooler weather.

From reading about CAIs on a few different forums, it seems apparent that most people buy a CAI just for the sound it makes, and don't really feel any power increase at all (just the illusion that sound gives them), and they actually end up burning more gas, because they want to hear the intake noise. To me, the silence I hear, from my 03 V6 with normal driving, is golden, and gives me the feeling of a smooth operating engine. I can hear the engine, and not the intake noise. I already have to change the oil in my engine, and changing the oil in one of those filters when it gets dirty, doesn't sound like fun. I would rather buy another regular filter, and slap it in there. I don't think the stock intake is all that restrictive in the first place. Seems to me the piping is plenty large enough to give the engine all the air it needs.

Just my opinion.
