hey guys! there arethere things i was able to observe about my car


1. runs rough when engine is still cold

2.when do i know when my fuel mixture is rich or lean?

3.odd exhaust smell

can anyone give me a clue on this symptoms

It could be a faulty 02 (oxygen) sensor. That would cause the rough run, the odd exhaust smell and either lean or rich burning... However that will usually give you a CEL light... does the exhaust smell like fuel at all (running rich) or burning rubber (oil burning possibly) is it an odd color? This might also just be due to it needing a tuneup with new sparkplugs, wires etc.

 

How many miles are on the car, and what kind of maintenence has been done?
Stinky exhaust could be the type of gas you are using; also in the winter time gasoline suppliers put different additives in the supply.

 

the car is around 114k kilometeres... where do i find the o2 sensor? sorry newbe

 

well it has two O2 sensors, one is going to be right in front of the car on the exhaust system just past the head and the other is going to be right after your cat converter under the car.... do you have a CEL light on?
