oem parts, best place to purchase
Hello All
new here, but not to forums.
i may be in the wrong place but take it easy on me.
2001 accord cupe EX V-6
the car has 96,000 miles and im getting ready to do the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, seals and whatever else it will need.
a friend told me honda sells the whole nine yards in a kit?
i read the timing belt is due at 105,000 miles?
i would like to use oem honda parts, unless the general idea of the forum thinks there is better parts to use.
i found with my volvos oem is the only way to go if i want the parts to last. with a few exeptions.
i will do the job myself with directions from vadis.
hope to learn alot here.
where should i buy the parts i need?
any tips would be appreciated.
thanks a bunch
mike

RE: oem parts, best place to purchase
I inquired with a local dealership a few months back & the guy in the parts department told me that they don't have a "Timing belt kit." He said you have to buy all the parts separately. As far as what parts you need, try searching....I'm kinda lazy right now to look for the parts you need. Sorry!
I'm not sure if it's just certain dealerships that don't have the kits, or if they actually don't make a kit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.....or if the guy in the Honda parts department is wrong....or maybe he was just lazy.

The local honda dealership parts guy told me there is not a kit either. I also emailed parts guy at majestic honda and he told me there was not a kit as well. So what I did is I looked at an ebay kit and then found the equivalent parts at majestic.
