Oil change every 10,000 miles.
I use Mobile1 Full Synthetic for every oil change at 5.000 miles. I would like to know if changing the oil every 10,000 miles, vice 5,000 miles would make any difference??? Mostly highway driving. My accord has 92,000 miles on it now, and its a 2003. Let me know you Honda Pimps!

RE: Oil change every 10,000 miles.
Blackstone labs or someplace like that will analyze your oil, then tell you whether it's still good or 'used up'. Extended drain intervals are possible, but I wouldn't do that without actual oil analysis to say it's OK for YOUR particular car & driving habits. It won't be OK for everyone, and anyone who says so is just guessing.
Go to bobistheoilguy.com, I'm sure there's more than one place that does oilanalysis... People have posted their results, so you'll see what to expect.
So next time you drain it at 5k miles, have a sample bottle & send it in. Then you'll know whether it would have been good for another 5k or another 3k or ???

RE: Oil change every 10,000 miles.
My thoughts:
This is not professional advice. In the past my owners manuals regarding BMW, Volvo and Honda cars have recommend changing oil at 10,000 miles. 5,000 for severe service, (Towing trailers, etc.) Modern cars can specify when maintenance is necessary. The engine microcontrollers monitor mileage, cold starts, engine load, etc. For me this turned out to be about 10,000 to 11,000 miles. I do not think there is any advantage to second guessing the auto engineers.
