Default oil life

I just got an oil change done on my 08 sedan ex v6 accord. Oil life was at 20%, and after they changed the oil, it still said 20%. Is it supposed to automatically change to 100% when new oil is put in? or is there a button/switch that should be pushed to reset the oil life? I know this may be a basic question for some of you, but go easy on me.

I'm pretty sure it needs to be reset. Have you checked your owners manual for the procedure?

You might not be able to reset it until it gets down to 15% and the maintenance warning lamp comes on.

Cycle the trip display until it reads OIL %.
Press & hold that reset button until the oil display starts flashing.
Release the button for a moment, then press & hold it AGAIN.
Eventually it'll go to 100%.
