Oil in spark plug tubes

RE: Oil in spark plug tubes
Voltage drop may be the RESULT of a problem, not the cause.
Spark timing - do you have a timing light? I dont know if its adjustable on 1997. I know 1998 it was not.
Spark timing is adjusted by spinning the distributor body. Look at the distributor mounting bolts. Are the holes in the distributor SLOTTED to allow adjustment?
In the picture, the adjustment is within the range of those small slots.

Thanks for the diagram Jim! I have an appointment to get the free Honda tuneup next Thursday so I will see if that helps at all. It includes, oil change, plugs (which I just put new ones in ), new plug wires, new cap, and new air filter which I wont need b/c of sri.

RE: Oil in spark plug tubes
behind me I accelerate granny style. I talked to the Honda guy and he said the EPA warranty for my car (they replace anything that causes the CEL to come on) is only good to 110,000 mileswhich I had no idea. So hopefully my O2 sensors will go bad.....or maybe ill have to put some bad oem ones in before then. hehehe
