Yeah and the coolant in the expansion tank was not only full but pretty muddy, sledge on the bottom. Most likely bad block or bad head gasket job, you right. Sucks. Probably not worth doing, again, to a motor with 250k when what I want is an h22 anyway like my other cb7. Taking to dealer in the morning to verify and maybe get swap quotes.
