Default P0325 - Knock Sensor Location

I got code P0325 / Knock Sensor after chaning the oil today. I wonder if anyone knows where exactly the knock sensor is? and if it's easy to replace. This is for a Honda Accord 2002 4 cyl. VTech. Thanks in advance.

#14 It looks like it is just below the cylinder head on the back of the engine. Somewhere below the intake manifold.

Thanks PAhonda! Do you think I can access it from under the car without taking out the intake manifold? Or I need to take it out to the shop? Just came back from there for a head gasket job. Only if this code was found a few days earlier...

Maybe they didn't put the plug on securely when they did the head gasket. They also could have damaged the electrical connector, or there could be some oil in that connector.

Definitely inspect the sensor before replacing.

You should be able to get to it from under the car, because it looks like it is next to the oil sending unit, but it may be tough to see. You may be able to reach from the top of the car to feel the electrical connector for the knock sensor.

Or maybe I may have knocked on it this morning when replacing the oil filter. Do you have any other illustration showing relatively how close this knock sensor to the oil filter? It's dark now, and the engine is still hot, but I will definitely look into this tomorrow morning. Thanks again for helping on this.

Search "Honda Accord 98-02 F23 Engine block vtec h22 h23 F23A1" on ebay.

That listing shows a lot of pics of your engine block. It looks like there are two threaded holes on there. The knock sensor may be the one above the filter. I'm guessing the other one is the oil pressure switch.

Also search ebay for accord knock sensor. It looks like the oem has a green body that sticks out.

Default Wow...

Wow... You're really good!!! I could never thought of going on ebay to learn new stuff (only to buy stuff, but not car related as the parts tend to be heavy and be needed in a short time ) I think you're right that the sensor is above the filter. I will check it out tomorrow and hope that I can get to it. I read that the sensor needs to be torqued to the right force or it could give wrong signals?

Default Found the problem

I went under the car today and right above and slightly to the left of the oil filter is the knock sensor. The sensor is broken with the plastic part separated from the metal part. The connector is still attached to the plastic portion of the knock sensor. Definitely will need to replace the knock sensor. Good thing is that I can get to this area from underneath the car.

Anyone knows if there's any special instruction I need to follow to replace the knock sensor. It doesn't look like I need to drain the coolant or oil to do this job (as opposed to what I read from some other general guides on the net). More like just reach in, remove and put back. Do I need to torque it? How critical is it to torque it right, because I dont' have a torque wrench. Should I leave this to the shop? Thanks

Default Got it fixed

I took the car back to the shop and they replaced the sensor for free. The car is running smoothly now. Thanks to eveyone, especially PAHonda for helping on this.
