Default P1258 Engine Code - what does it mean?

Daughter's 1999 Honda Accord had the check engine light on. Code says P1258. What does that mean and how do I clear it. 105,000 miles and original timing belt. Does it need to be changed or is the code another issue?

Honda OBD-II Trouble Codes
Says it's a VTEC system malfunction. Could be any number of things, I'd take it to a mechanic for a free estimate.

VTEC oil-pressure switch

How old is the oil? You can set off that code with sludge buildup. Or with low oil inventory.

On a 4-cyl engine (you didn't say) the VTEC spool valve is between the valvecover & the intake manifold, towards the right-side of the car. Look for loose/dirty/corroded wiring plugs at the solenoid on top, and especially the pressure switch on the side.

This isn't related to the timing belt at all. But DO get that changed. 105k miles is due by milage, but it's OVERDUE by the calendar (every 7 years). The timing belt will give little or no warning. Then engine will just stop running when the pistons hit the valves.
