since you just replaced rear shoes , first of all you got to adjust the rear shoes,, turn the little star adjuster downward to tighten the adjustment, do it a bit at a time ( 2-3) clicks , put the drum back on and spin it,, .. do this till you feel a very slight drag, than back the adjuster screw back ( upward ) 2-3 clicks ..

Once the shoes are properly adjusted, chk the clicks on the e-brake should be around 5-6 clicks ,, if more than that, there is an adjuster nut in the center rear of the center console ( 12mm) some models just pop out the rear ash tray or a cover in the console and you will see it ,, tighten the nut till you have 5-6 clicks,, then spin the rear drums to make sure that they still spin freely

Start car then press and release brake pedal several times. Stop engine. Put the back of the car on jack stands. Remove center console. Pull E-brake up one click. Tighten adjusting bolt until the rear brakes start to drag. Release parking brake and make sure that the rear brakes don't drag.

You can get this info from a pdf of a 94 shop manual from spoon honda link in the Online Manuals thread in the DIY section. It is pretty much identical to your 96. With a couple of minor exceptions (crank angle sensor is on the engine block not in the distributor, and your car is obd2). It is an invaluable reference.
