92 accord: I have a problem with a water leak when it rains, its on the passenger side kick panel, we had some rain tonight and I went to check it out, I had to lay on my back in the passenger seat with a flash light, and about crawl under the dash, but I found it, Theres a clear hose way up under the dash behind all the wiring , its on the passenger side of the dash, well, water was just dripping out of this hose, it has a angle cut to the end of it, it looks like some sort of drain hose. Maybe its has come loose off of something, Any help with telling what this hose is for and what is supposed to be connected to to keep water out of my floorboard?

Im reading your plight, but for the life of me, I cant help you .
I hope some one whose been in the same fix...has your fix for you..I for one will be watching for the answer also...

Thanks, I have no idea what the hose is for? Sunroof Drain?? Im going to try and track it down tomorrow, Tonight I have the carpet pulled up with towels in the floorboard.

 

what model acc do you have , ? by you saying sunroof drain i have to assume it is an EX ..if you got an LX or DX forget the sunroof drain theory
Now the hose that you are talking about where ia it located exactly ?? without a pic it is hard for me to identify it >> can you take a pic and post it ?
have you had a windshield replaced recently or at any time ?? all the weather stripping is ok ?

 

Its a EX model with a sunroof, No on the windshield, and weather stripping is fine, its coming from the hose, its under the passenger side dash above the Wiring for the computers on the passenger side kick panel, I'll try to get a pic, its a real tight area.

 

Looks like the clear hose is supposed to go inside a bigger Black hose that exits the car behind the front fender, it looks like it came out of the bigger hose, I cant get to it to slid it back in , its such a tight fit, Heres a pic, but not very clear

 

have you tried to sparay some silicone or wd-40 on the rubber hose and than try to reposition the clear hose ?

 

It wasnt a tight fit for the clear hose going into the black hose, i was a tight fit getting my hand in to put it back in, I was able to get it back in finally , it didnt go in very far 1/2 inch or so, I guess thats why it came out, I live on a bumpy road, probablyknocked it out, Looks like it might have been cut short from the factory. Any way after a few scraps on the hands i was able to get it back in,. i wonder what its a drain hose for?

it looks like a moon roof drain hose.......
you might want to put some tape ( duct tape ) where the 2 hoses meet this way,you can be sure it won't come out again
