Default Possible Transmission Issue 2003 Honda Accord V6

Hello everyone! I'm new to the Forum. I was driving my Honda last night (2003 V6) to a bar and I was driving fine for the majority of the trip (which was all highway driving) until I got on the main road into the left turning lane to wait for the green light. All of a sudden my car wouldn't move! It acted as if it was in neutral, even though it was in Drive. Luckily I got it to the place I was going to (only about a mile more if that) but the car barely would go 20 and the rpm was revving up. Had to have it towed to my house by AAA. The guy said it could be a solenoid. What does it sound like/has this happened to anybody else? I'm hoping it is anything bout failed transmission! It has like 111k miles on it btw. Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Check ATF level and check for transmission codes in PCM (autozone, O'Riellys, etc).

good luck

Let us know what the outcome was, Twofactor23. I would like to know since I just bought an 04 V6. I have been reading that the transmission can go out on these cars without warning. Some sources say they fixed it by the end of 2003. Others say the problem persisted through 2004.

I had a same problem with my 03 accord V4. It wasn't going more than 40 mph. I took it to the honda dealer. It was because of the bad water pump, cost me almost $500 to replace the new one.

Ollieauto,

Honda "claimed" the same thing in 2002 with the 6 gen transmission. However I have seen and experienced many 2002 honda accord AT's failing because of case bearing and / or clutch plate glue failure. So I don't buy it.

To the OP this is not a good thing. It could be a solenoid hopefully... Did you ever experience any harsh shifting? Delayed downshifting into 1st at stops? Did you try shifting the car to 1st then 2nd?.
