Default Power steering hard to turn

2002 Accord coupe V6 auto. It seems to me that the power steering in this car is very stiff, difficult to turn. It almost feels like non power steering. Asked dealer to check once and they said it did seem stiff, but probably was due to the larger tires on the coupe. I dont think the tires are any bigger on the coupe, and they are the size specified. Anyone else notice this? Is this just a characteristic of the car? It is great on the highway. I wondered at one time if these cars had variable power steering and it was stuck in a stiffer highway mode. Appreciate any comments.

Pump, belts, fluid levels all okay. I have never owned another Honda so I have no comparisons.
