Default Power Window won't go down, just click sound

I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX and it has power windows. Suddenly one of the power windows has stopped going down and when i press the button (the driver's side button for the passenger's side windows or the passenger's side window), i just get a click sound on the passenger side window, but it does not go down.

Additionally the driver side window, while going down, makes a grinding sound which is kind of scary.

Please tell me what may be the issue ??

Just back from Firestone and they charge a freaking 99$ just to check one door. This is expensive.
What other options to get this thing checked and fixed ??

Windows are dragging heavily and perhaps misaligned. Driver's regulator may be damaged.

You will need to remove door panels and investigate further. Any experience w/ DiY?

good luck

Absolutely no experience with DIY so that option is out of scope. The firestone people quoted 99$ for checking each window (remove door panel etc etc) :O

This can be labor intensive, if they are inexperienced. I would suggest doing some checking for someone familiar w/ honda power windows. Body shops may be a good option.

good luck

I don't know anyone.

Suggest investing in Angies List membership and look for shops in your area w/ A rating and at least 10 reviews.

good luck
