Default Prices paid for paintjob

Hello all.

I have a 97 Accord. It has only a couple of small dings on it and no rust.

The problem it has is the clear coat has pealed off on alot of the trunk and some of the roof. I hit those spots with some very fine sandpaper and it helped (as in it removed the white chalk looking areas) but still doesn't look that great.

I plan on having this car for a few years and would like to have it repainted.

My car is the very common lighter blue, I would like it to be painted silver or perhaps a darker blue ( I think that lighter colors are easier to paint)

So do you think I could get a decent quality job for $1,000 or less?

I dont think so no, especially a color change. To respray the trunk and roof maybe. I paid over $400 just for materials for my paintjob.

I was lucky enough to have a friend going to school for body work, and he needed a final project so I volunteered my car. Paid 400ish for material and gave him $200 for his time. But that was a rare opportunity.

Maaco might be in your price range, but has mixed reviews.

I would honestly just live with it, especially if its just your daily driver.
