Default Quesion about S mode on the 2013 Accord Sport

I just picked up my new 2013 Honda Accord Sport the other day. I notice that when I put it is S mode from a dead stop and then go, I'm almost immediately jumping into 5th gear. Is anyone else noticing this or is this something I should mention to the dealership? Thanks!

That really doesn't seem correct, even though I'm no auto-trans expert. I'd go back to the dealer & ask to test-drive another Accord to see if it does the same thing.

Does your car have paddle shifters?

Either way doesn't sound right. In automatic mode, 5th gear is supposed to used in at high speed (see attached pic. from owner's manual).

If the car has paddle shifters and you switched from automatic to 7-speed manual shift mode, it can only pull away from 1st speed. After that, you select the speed to shift; unless it reaches red line, where it will automatically shift up.

Agree, picked up my 13 sport last week as well and starts out in 1st. Take it back to the dealer.
