Default Question about Re-cleaning EGR ports on a 1993

At 162,000 miles I brought my car into a shop and they cleaned the EGR ports. They drilled holes in the plugs on the top of the manifold and then tapped threads in those plugs and put small bolts in to seal the holes they drilled. My car now has 268,000 miles on it and I am wondering if I will need to get the ports cleaned again. My next question is, do I just unscrew the bolts and put a pick down to loosen the carbon, vacuum out the holes and replace the bolts? Is that what I would need to do?

Hmm, seems like you shouldn't have to drill any holes to clean the EGR. I cleaned my EGR on my 95 Legend before but maybe it's diffenent on a Honda. Maybe there's a DIY.

Sure, if there are little bolts you can just remove.
But what leads you to believe they need cleaned again?

Well, the car hiccuped yesterday and with so many miles on it, it just passed through my mind that I might need to do it. I just want to be prepared for it if I do need to clean them.
