Default radio effecting start up???

i was really really questioning this when i heard it. but i was told that if i didnt have the radio codes after disconnecting the battery wires from the terminals, then it may effect the entire engine when i try to start it up next...
i have never heard this before in my life but i figured i would ask someone for thier opinion bkuz its always worth it. if anyone can help out then please do so, otherwise im going to just blow off that bit of information that i had heard and continue trying to get my car to start some other way.

Actually, I have heard about car's security systems being tied into the factory stereo - but that was on a Ford Taurus.

i could see the security system being tied into the stereo but that wouldnt keep the car itself from starting would it. my car turns over but it wont start... i just wanted to see if the radio codes would actually have something to do with it. i doubted him anyway but like i said before i just didnt want to rule that out if it could have been a option.

Some of the mid 90's civics had a security system tied into the radio. If the factory radio was replaced it could sometimes cause some fun issues like no start.

really? that is interesting. mine is a 91 accord ex. i mean that does make since, if your car is being broken into then why would you want to it start? but im not too sure my car even has a security system. but is there some way to reset it? besides the radio codes or whatever, maybe the fuel pump? apparently ther is a reset somewhere. but i havent had a chance to look at it to see if thats true either
