Uncommon Parasitic battery drain
Regards to 2006 Honda LX unidentified battery drain--took car to honda mechanic after new duralast 500 CCA battery. The 40amp under hood fuse circuit still
allows test light on. He explained the light will ignite even with a low mamp draw--need to use an amp check on neg. terminal to ground. It was 7.5 mamps approximately after warmup. Alternator output 14.2 volts, starter draw
under load 120.amps(said to be norm). I'm monitoring new battery voltage for awhile. Mechanic wants to know results later. Vehicle with be parked for days(retired spouse car). We want to keep it. I got circuit diagrams from my Honda sales/ service to get "educated." Frustration is mounting to say the least. Very informative forum. Thanks. Tom
