Default Rear caliper rebuild kits

Hi All,

I have a 2001 Accord V6 and I have removed the rear caliper and I am in the process of rebuilding all four of them. I am having trouble finding the kits and I have a question about the threaded piston. I bought a Haynes manual and it did not cover the procedure. When I put the caliper on the bench I put a thin block of wood in the caliper to catch the piston then I put an air hose in the fluid port and blew the piston out. I can't understand how I did this, because the piston was supposed be threaded on the shaft for the operation of the emergency brake. Did the piston spin a while I was applying the air pressure? Do you guys have a link to a Honda Service manual for a 2001 EX-L V6 3.0 VTEC.

TIA Dan Yoder

Please do not post in the DIY Section - there is a sticky in there stating that. I've moved this one.

I think the honda dealership sells the caliper kits. Go to a site like hondapartsnow.com or majestic honda to look up the part number.

My best suggestion for rebuilding the rear caliper is to download a shop manual. Automanualsource.com sells the manuals for $21.99 as a pdf are are worth the investment.

In the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help has a link to some free online shop manuals. The 94 accord rear caliper procedure should be similar to your 01. The TL shop manual would be better. You can definitely find the 94 accord, but not sure on what acura manuals are out there.

Default found a great site for manuals

Thanks for your help, I found a site:
Accord - Downloads - Hondahookup.com

I have a 94 Accord 230K, with a bent steering rack from a wreck I had.
I have a 97 CRV with 190K just had a water pump and timing belt intsall
I have a 98 Civic 77K just bought for 4,300.00
And a 2001 65K I just bought for 2500.00
Honda ride mower
84 Honda V45 Magna motorcycle

So I think I like Honda stuff and old Ham Radios. I downloaded (4) manuals from the above site. The rear caliper has many many replacement parts.
