Default rear sway bar end links

I thought I would start a new thread about a problem i've caused for myself. I got pwned by the rear sway bar end links. A few more more threads and I would have had it off and then somehow I managed to strip the bolt. The allen wrench won't keep it in place and now I got a loose sway bar on the drivers side. How would I go about fixing this problem? Maybe just accept defeat and let a shop take care of it? Oh, I almost forgot...I'm guessing this is a safety issue isn't it? Should I not drive the car?

Since the sway bar only helps the car stay flatter in corners, if nothing's dragging you should be fine driving like it is.

I hit the same snag when installing my TL sway bar, but took the chicken way out by having a set of new end links on hand. When I realized it was hopeless trying to back off those nuts, I broke out the sawzall w/ a metal-cutting blade. 10 seconds later, old links were off. A hack saw would do it too, but less fun.

Ah ok. So for the bottom bolt it would be easy to hack off since I got the nut somewhat off. How about the top one? Just cut it off at the nut and it will get the bolt off too? Did you go to dealer for end links or local auto parts stores and about how much? Man, I was hoping for a cheap diy with the tl sway bar lol. Those bolts are freaking crazy difficult. Hopefully there is a hacksaw somewhere in the garage.

Any other tips for this would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't mess w/ the bottom bolt, just started on the top ones, and threw out the old sway bar with the old end links attached to it.

I bought the end links from an online Honda parts place. Not cheap. IIRC, the links came out to more than the TL sway bar. Still a great mod- big handlingimprovement for the money, with no sacrifice in ride qualitiy.

Thanks for that! No need to take the bottom bolts off since i'm replacing the sway bar. When you put the new links was it easy to get the nut on nice and tight?
