I have a 1995 accord lx i was wondering how much it should cost to rebuild the automatic tranny. Any numbers would be helpful.

 

Probably a lot($1,000) would be my guess.

You can pick them up used in the 2-300 range.

 

Yeah im torn between decisions. i either want to rebuild it and get that important warranty. on the other hand i could get a used one and put it in for around 500 idk which one would make the most sense in regards to longevity

 

I look at it this way, you could replace it with a used one 2 maybe 3 times for the price of rebuilding it.

You also have to factor in how long you plan on having the car for.

 

yeah its been a flip flop for a while now lol. I love my accord and would like to keep it and improve it; put some mods and stuff into it. at the same time i would like to do an h22 swap down the road so idk which to do now. i was thinking 4 or 5 years from now doing that swap so the tranny would have to last til then

 

Well which ever option you choose the transmission will still be compatible with an H22.

I personally like the used option better, but its always a gamble.

 

well the tranny that would go in now is an auto... when i get the h22 i would like to get a stick. that i plan on buying with the motor itself from jdm so idk yet.
