Rebuilding: '89 Accord
Not sure if im in the right place to be posting for some help on this topic but ill shoot off my question anyway.
I'm looking to completely and utterly restore, then upgrade my Accord LX from the ground up (engine, interior, exterior)....but ive never restored before or "modded" so im at a loss for where to start on this project, the car is currently my "working car" so its not something i can let a carb sit off for 3 weeks kinda deal.
Looking for some insight from veterans on how to tackle this kind of project (i.e. starting from the engine out or going from the exterior in).
If anyone can throw a tip around or website or just anything really that would be a great help to getting this into the planning stage. =D

Far as the interior goes Id like to completely reapholster the interior from the original maroon to black, and swap out the front seats for more bucket racing seat types. The exterior i would like to replace all the rusted panels as well as getting a fresh coat of paint (perhaps a different color) along with adding on a "modest" body kit for some flare.
I did also have a question if there was ever a v6 model engine made available for the LX model in 89'

Honda accords had a V6 engine starting in 1995.
Since this is your daily driver, I would start with the interior, because you can still drive the car when doing with the interior ripped apart. Finding a Honda with a black interior will make your life easier.
I think that honda had only red or gray interior for the 89 accords. If you can use some of the grey interior, then your life will be simpler. See if there is a U-Pull-It junkyard near where you live to find inexpensive parts.
If you want black carpet, you will have to dye or paint it. Someone wrote that up in the DIY section. See: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...art-1-a-34012/

I have the original 89 Handa Accord brochure, somewhere. Personally I know there are a few other original options for the interior color. Never "modded" any of mine so I can't help there but if there are any OE questions, post them up and I will help with what I know or what I can find for you in one of the ones I have.
Before posting this I went and got the brochure. Interior colors offered in 89- of course not all were offered in all trims levels.
beige
red
blue
grey
brown
BLACK-only in the DX coupe or hatchback-Exterior color "Phoenix Red"
Of course PA's suggestions or a local upholstery shop might be able to make it easier. Sorry, couldn't resist looking it up.
