Default Reconstructed/Salvage titled 2002 Honda Accord EX

Hi all
I'm on the market for a new Honda Accord. I happened upon a 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 with 144,000 miles. It was involved in an accident, damage to the front and rear bumpers.

I got to examine the car while it was being repaired. Didn't note any mechanical damage. It is presently at the body shop getting put back together. Here are some pictures:
The guy wants $2,500 and promises when he's done with it it'll look new. Are there any issues I should be concerned with apart from usual Honda stuff? Am I going to run into some electric issues? What should I be concerned with? Is it a nightmare to get the paperwork done on a salvage title in NJ? I have a VIN number as well.

Go on craigslist or some used car search and get prices for the same accord without the salvage title. Then you will know what about how much money you are saving with the salvage car.

I personally would not buy this car. The V6 transmissions have premature failures in the 98-02 accords. If I were to buy a 98-02 accord, it would be a manual transmission.

Is there anyway I can check to see if the transmission on this model is faulty? Is it just a roll of the dice? Aren't they know to fail around 90k? If it made it 144K should I expect it to be okay?
