Relay - Different car, different problem

Relay - Different car, different problem
About a month ago, I asked for help with my 91 Honda, the engine would not start when it was hot, and I received some great assistance from this forum. I did the job, and it worked great.
Now, different car, 92 Accord, and slightly different problem. Engine starts fine, but the interior of the car is burning up. On the last occasion, Hondadude wrote this in reply to a hasty diagnosis of the relay: "whoa, wait, hang on a second; engine hot and carinterior hot are 2 different animals."
So, now I have a hot interior. Different relay? Something else? Thanks in advance for the help and time.

RE: Relay - Different car, different problem
I think I remember that post by Hondadude. The thread was talking about a bad main relay.
The main relay is located inside the car, near the driver's left knee. If the engine compartment is really hot but the interior is cool, the main relay will *usually* not act bad. It'll act bad when the interior is hot, like parked in the sun all day.
The main relay doesn't CAUSE a hot interior. It just screws up when the interior is hot.
Now then... The main relay has NOTHING AT ALL to do with the operation of the air conditioner. It switches power to the fuel pump so when it screws up the engine won't start.

You might want to check to see if your temperature control is hooked up to the air mix doors & to the valve on the heater hose.
In the engine compartment, near the firewall, look forthis valve (#1)on one of the heater hoses. Make sure the cable & lever moves back & forth when youmove the heater control from hot to cold.

Simple solution
The lesson here is to check the simple things first. The temperature control **** was stripped. $10 at the local Honda store. A/C works. Thanks for going through the trouble of helping. I did check those other things first, and the **** was an afterthought.
Take it easy.
Take it easy.
