Default Remote starter

Hello..I want to get a remote starter on my car. I presently lease a 2008 Accord due up in September. I might buy it, might get a new one, unsure at this point. When I got it, Honda wanted $600 for the remote start. I hear places do it for about $150. If I go to a private shop, can anyone reccomend what I should ask for? I'm unfamiliar with the whole thing.
Thanks in advance!

Look for a company that solders the wires instead of using crimp connectors.

Thanks Kris. I'm not sure what that really means, but I'll be sure to ask!

It just means that when you connect the wires, you use solder to hold them together.

Crimping is just winding the wires together and squeezing a cylindrical piece of metal to connect the wires.

You want to keep your wiring as close to factory as you can to prevent problems from happening in the future and they will be cutting into the harness most likely. At Roush when we modified a harness for Ford they would strip the wires to be joined then press the ends into each other linearly and then wind with thin wire over(like they do on trout flies) the two bare ends and solder than shrink tube. The winding wire over the bare ends I had never seen before nor do I think is necessary but the solder than shrink tube is pretty stanadard.
